Spring Sporting Calendar

09th Feb 2023

Today, 9 February, kicks off the spring sporting calendar with more sports than you can shake a hockey stick at. Whatever sport you enjoy watching or taking part in, there’s something for everyone this year.

We’ve compiled a top ten rundown of our favourite sporting action coming up.

Cricket World Cup – 9 Feb – 26 Mar. This year, India is hosting the ICC one-day event, first held in 1975.

Super Bowl – 12 February. The pinnacle of American finals, the US Super Bowl is one of the most watched sporting events in the world.

Golf Masters – Augusta, Georgia – 6-9 April. One of the most famous and visually spectacular golf majors in the sporting calendar.

Snooker World Championships - 15 April – 1 May. Arguably one of Sheffield’s most famous sporting events and sources of national pride.

The Grand National - 15 April. The world-famous jump event bringing fans and casual betters out in numbers.

Formula 1 Grand Prix – Monaco, 28 May. The most famous and prized race on the F1 calendar, Monaco GP is a remarkable spectacle of speed and glamour.

The French Open – 28 May – 11 June. The second Grand Slam Tennis event also called the Tournoi de Roland-Garros.

UEFA Champions League Final – 10 June. Despite the Christmas pause for the world Cup, this football tournament is still highly anticipated and hotly fought over.

NBA Finals – June. 30 US teams competing for the National Basketball finals, currently held by the Golden State Warriors from San Francisco.

Special Olympics – Berlin, 16 – 25 June. Unlike the Paralympics, the Special Olympics focuses solely on athletes with intellectual disabilities.
