Remembrance Sunday

07th Nov 2022

For those of us who know someone who is currently serving or who has served in the Armed Forces, Remembrance Sunday offers us a poignant time to reflect and give thanks for their commitment and sacrifice.

And while many of us may not know a member of the Armed Forces personally, it also provides a unique opportunity to pause and remember those who have come before us and served. Not just overseas, but the millions of men, women and families who continue to keep the country running during periods of conflict, struggle and most recently, grief.

We remember all who serve

It is hard to imagine someone who has not been affected either directly or indirectly by the valuable work our military personnel perform, 365 days a year. And this has been brought into sharp focus in recent months, with so many service personnel, across the forces on display during Her Majesty’s funeral.

This year it feels especially pertinent to use this Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day on Friday 11 November to pause and reflect on the many colleagues, friends, loved ones and strangers who have served so heartedly and so selflessly.

The Armed Forces Covenant

Last year CSSC was honoured to sign the Armed Forces Covenant. Our pledge is to ensure we always treat current and former members of the Armed Forces and their families fairly, equally and with the honour and respect they so deserve.

To learn more about the Armed Forces Covenant and the valuable work it supports you can find out more here. You can read our Armed Forces Covenant in full here.

Two-minute silence

We invite all members, volunteers and staff to join us in our 2 minutes of silence at 11 am on Friday 11 November.
