Wild swimming

Explore nature as never before

With wild swiming you'll take in beautiful natural waters, such as rivers, reservoirs or lakes.

Why is it good for me?

By exercising in the great outdoors, you’ll find there are many positive benefits to wild swimming:

  • Relieves muscle aches
  • Reduces depression
  • Boosts the immune system

Wild swimming locations are now cleaner and safer than ever before.

What equipment do I need?

You’ll just need swimwear, and a towel, and then you’re all set. If you plan to wild swim regularly, particularly in the colder months, then we’d recommend a wetsuit and cap.

What do I need to know?

Take extra care if you’re new to swimming, or have children with you. Stay close to the shore and remember that shallow waters can suddenly become deep. Always be wary of potential hazards, such as trips, slips or falls.

Swimming in cold water can quickly sap body heat. Ensure that you keep an eye on the time and listen to your body.
