What is the role of and Workplace Engagement Champion?
Workplace Engagement Champions are there to support colleagues in their workplace and local area to get the most out of CSSC. A Workplace Engagement Champions is CSSC’s eyes and ears on the ground, there to promote membership, let people around them know all the great things available for them through CSSC membership, and be the office contact for colleagues’ enquiries.
As a Workplace Engagement Champion, you could also engage with your local area committee to ensure that members have access to the activities and events they want, as well as have a say in national offers.
How much time will I need to give?
Not much- every six weeks we will send you tailored communications sometimes with a link to a poster containing the same information. We’ll also send you local or regional information- but we’ll never send you more than one thing a week to share.
Once you get this information we would be really grateful if you could do one or more of the following:
- Forward the newsletter to all staff in your office building
- Post the details on your intranet
- Print off and put up the poster contained within the email on office noticeboards
On top of this, it’s up to you. There’s lots of ways to get more out of CSSC, like getting involved with organising events and activities, or you could find ways promote membership and volunteer opportunities to your colleagues.
You could also promote CSSC at health and wellbeing events at your workplace, and support CSSC staff to attend recruitment drives within your building.
What skills do I need?
- You need to be friendly and personable-willing to speak to new and established. Colleagues.
- You should be a CSSC member, and know about the benefits available nationally and in your area.
- You should be based in an office or similar, or have regular contact with a range of colleagues.
What support will I receive?
As well as regular communications from Head Office, you will have a local Volunteer Team Leader who can support you, and put you in touch with your local area committee who will also be pleased to help.
