Are you looking to get more involved with your Regional committee? Are you good with numbers? Then we have the perfect role for you! The North East and Yorkshire Region are looking for a new Treasurer to undertake the financial management and administration of the Region.

Your time and expenses 

Full training and support will be provided, and volunteer hours may vary due to the nature of the role. Out of pocket expenses will be paid.

In terms of the commitment required, meetings take place approx. six times a year and a Regional conference which takes place over two days (November).

Key requirements 
  • Maintain an accurate, up to date record of all financial transactions within the Region
  • Make prompt payment of all bills and invoices received
  • To communicate with fellow officers (Secretary and Chair), committee members and to keep Area Association officers within the Region up to date as required
  • Ensure, along with the Chair that the Region is financially sound, carry out regular checks on the books and bank accounts
  • Ensure that the committee are updated on the financial position regularly and be involved with the setting of budgets
  • Ensure that all CSSC policies are understood and implemented
  • To use the provided CSSC email account for all communications relating to Eastern Region
  • Liaise with CSSC Head Office and the Volunteer Team Leader, Katie Bradshaw
  • Use the provided CSSC email account for all communications relating to CSSC the North East and Yorkshire Region
  • In conjunction with the regional Team, financially manage a programme of events that is accessible to all
  • Liaise with the Regional committee on any financial issues and challenges
  • Have a ‘can do’ attitude to support CSSC members and the vision and values of our organisation
Skills and abilities 
  • It would be desirable (but not essential) that you have experience of keeping accounts/bookkeeping or are confident with finances
  • Effective organisational and communicational skills
  • You will need to be able to access the regional CSSC Treasurer email account, and a knowledge of IT (particularly MS Excel) would be useful
  • You should be able to make decisions and show a willingness to delegate tasks to ensure the successful running of the Region
