Area of Responsibility

Responsible for the management of the Transport Team including Mini Buses (on and offsite) and Support Vehicles, ensuring they run in an efficient & effective manner

Hours on Duty

You will be asked to arrive on the evening of Wednesday 14th September and your final shift will be complete on Saturday 17th September

Role Description

  • Lead and coordinate the Transport team
  • Contact your team members ahead of The Games to make an introduction, provide support and advice
  • Create rotas for team members
  • Ensure you and your team all hold a valid driving licence (see Insurance requirements below), taking photocopies on arrival at Loughborough (required for Insurance purposes)
  • Devise routes, maps and timetables for Mini Buses on and offsite
  • Be aware of the Event Schedule so timetables reflect playing schedules
  • Ensure all road traffic safety laws and regulations are adhered to
  • Ensure that you are aware of the effects of alcohol and your team report for duty in a fit and sober state
  • Ensure that all walkie-talkies are signed out from the Control Office each day and returned to the Control Office at the end of each day for charging
  • Ensure that the Mini Buses & Support Vehicles are re-fuelled at the end/beginning of each day. Money and information of local petrol stations will be provided
  • Ensure all Mini Buses and Support Vehicles are parked in the allocated areas when not in use
  • Deposit all keys at the Control Office when Mini Buses & Support Vehicles not in use
  • Ensure that all incidents are reported back to the Control Office, promptly and clearly
  • Ensure that all CSSC property you are issued with is looked after and returned to the Control Office at the end of the day
  • Ensure that you are aware of and follow the Health & Safety guidelines at all times
  • Thank all team members for their contribution to The Games

Insurance Requirements

  • 10 Mini Bus drivers must be over the age of 25 by 14 September 2022
  • Mini Bus drivers must hold categories D1 and D1e on their driving licence
  • Individuals will be asked to follow a link to create an online check code, you will be required to enter your driving licence number, NI number and postcode to generate the check code. Once the code has been created it will need to be emailed to CSSC along with a scanned copy of your photo card licence, or old-style paper licence if still held. Further details will be provided at a later stage.


  • Familiarise yourself with the campus, your team’s area of responsibility, the car parks, the routes around campus, to off-site locations and to petrol stations
  • Familiarise yourself with the route to the local A & E unit (you will be provided with the address and a map)
  • Use and protocol of walkie-talkies will be given by Volunteer Team Leader
