

CSSC Regional Diversity Champion - South and South East

CSSC has an established network of volunteer Regional Diversity Champions to promote diversity and inclusion. However there are a number of regional vacancies that need to be filled. Training will be provided to ensure volunteers are equipped to take on the role.
This is an interesting and varied role which will lead to shaping and developing the CSSC Diversity & Inclusion for members and volunteers.
The Regional Diversity Champion Role?
- Raise awareness of Equality and Diversity.
- Supporting the CSSC Board in shaping the D&I policy and guidelines
- Collating relevant data and information about the demographic with the region in which deployed.
- Supporting the CSSC Board and Head Office staff in shaping and developing the Volunteer and Sports Strategies.
- Raise awareness of CSSC’s Statement of Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion.
- To act as an information resource, providing guidance and support to individuals who may raise issues or concerns.
- Constructively challenge those who speak or behave inappropriately.
- Participate in training and meetings as required.
- To identify any concerns or allegations which may go beyond the remit of the role.
Skills required for Regional Diversity Champion
- Listening skills.
- Engaging and influential skills desirable
- Communication skills.
- The ability to be objective.
- Act in a professional manner at all times.
Knowledge to be gained by Regional Diversity Champions:
- Understanding of relevant legislation.
- Understanding of relevant CSSC policies.
- Understanding of own limitations.
- Awareness of the support and guidance available to Champions.
