The Civil Service Sailing Association

The Civil Service Sailing Association

Sailing is a great sport for all ages, enjoyed by both families and individuals all across the UK. Whether you live near the coast or many miles from the sea, whether you're interested in pottering around an inland lake or battling the elements in an offshore yacht race, then think about the Civil Service Sailing Association.

The CSSA provides sailing facilities at various locations around the UK, and offers training on both dinghies and yachts at all levels, from complete beginner to experienced ocean racer. The CSSA is recognised as an approved training establishment by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and offers courses that lead to nationally recognised RYA qualifications.

CSSC members and their families are welcome to join the CSSA (there is no additional cost) and take advantage of opportunities to enjoy gentle drifting, competitive racing, coastal cruising or offshore challenges.

CSSA offers:

  • Six clubs providing dinghy and yacht sailing in England
  • Three CSSA owned yachts, which are purchased and maintained through charter fees, and are available for members to use either as crew or skipper (for those with relevant qualifications)
  • Yacht moorings on the south coast
  • Opportunities to take part in dinghy and yacht racing events
