CSSC is bound by the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) to ensure that all volunteers undertaking CSSC activities are not exposed to risks.
In order to comply with the Health and Safety legislation there are now a large number of responsibilities that need to be undertaken by all when running an event. It will be mandatory for all national and regional organisers to complete either a low risk checklist or high risk assessment for their event.
Two forms that have been produced are a checklist for low risk sports and a risk assessment form for high risk sports. The forms should be completed by the organiser in overall control of the event and submitted back to the event team with their event information form.
To assist the event organisers, guidance documents have been produced. A breakdown of what classification the risk of each sport can be found on the risk assessment table.
