What do Regional Officers do?
Regional Officers have the responsibility for general oversight of the way in which their designated
CSSC Region conducts business and provides support to help CSSC and its Regions succeed.

How much time will I be expected to give to the role?
Approximately 5 - 6 hours a month – you can largely manage the time you give flexibly. Your Regional Committee will typically meet once a month, and remote attendance at meetings is always available.
Regional Officers are invited to CSSC's National AGM and any Volunteer Awards events as well as their own Regional Conferences. Additional Teams calls may occasionally take place, and some business is conducted by email.
Whilst Regional Officers are unpaid, reasonable travel costs are met. Regional Officers are appointed for a term of four years and can serve a maximum of two terms.
What are you looking for?

background and those with a disability, as these groups are currently under-represented on our
committees.
You should be a current CSSC member, and need to be:
- Passionate about what CSSC does and prepared to promote the aims of CSSC
- Committed to devoting the necessary time, preparation and effort
- Supportive of inclusion and diversity
- Willing to abide by CSSC policies
We are looking for people who:
- Are open-minded, quick on the uptake and able to display good judgement
- Enjoy being involved in making decisions with a team of people, and finding solutions
- Are able to challenge the status quo, whilst respecting the views of others at all times
- Have the ability to listen carefully, and make concise and constructive contributions to discussions
- You do not need to have previous experience of sitting on a Committee to apply

What support and guidance will I receive if I am successful?
As well as receiving a volunteer handbook and full induction with your Volunteer Team Leader,
introductory calls with members of the Head Office Team can be arranged depending on your role.
Other Regional Officers will also talk to you, and offer their support as part of your induction.
