Comms Officer Update

12th Jun 2019

Here’s hoping for some warmer weather again soon. Whatever the weather, there are lots of activities days for you to enjoy indoors and outdoors around the Midlands this summer – check out the Things To Do (Link) section on the website.

Here at Region, we’ve been busy sorting out a venue for our Regional Volunteer Conference.  Michelle Chelu the Volunteer Team Leader is now solely looking after us in the Midlands. This is great news for us and Michelle will continue with the excellent work she has been doing in driving the Region forward.

Michelle and I attended the Regional Officers Conference on 7th & 8th April at Heythrop Park Resort in Oxfordshire. We were very interested to learn about activities and initiatives running in other Regions and we came away with a lot of ideas. As well as hearing from our Chief Executive Simon Lee, Hedley Featherstone gave an update on the Centenary preparations and he will be coming out to talk to us in the coming months about how we can get involved.

We had an overwhelming response to the Arts Survey, there has been a delay, but rest assured we are working through your responses. We have been really pleased with the information and suggestions you have taken the time to provide.  In March I spent a day at Head Office, meeting staff and learning about their roles and how we can work better together. It was a very informative day and useful to see how everything works and how what is effectively a very small team, manage all things CSSC!

Happy Reading!
