Make Fitness Fun with CSSC

While the month of January always feels particularly long, dark and rainy, February marks the moment when it feels like spring is not really that far away. Snow-drops and daffodils start to bloom, the afternoons linger a bit longer and the cold snaps get fewer and further between.

February is the month where we stop dragging our heals and begin in earnest to tighten up our eating and implement fitness routines. Members of CSSC can benefit in many ways from the various fitness incentives offered, whether it’s discounts, goal-setting, resources or moral support – you will find lots of new and different ways to get fit in 2018.

The CSSC Physical Activity Fund helps members try out new ways to keep fit at work or with friends; trial a lunchtime exercise class with up to 8 weeks of financial support or organise a one-off event. As long as the activity directly benefits members and prospective members, the fund can help with start-up costs, equipment purchase, venue hire, promotional material or instructor fees.

The Activity Subsidy Scheme financially assists with event participation and members can claim assistance for up to two events per year. Whether it’s marathons or running events over 5 miles, cycling events including road races, cycle treks and time trials, triathlons, duathlons, open water swimming or walking events over 5 miles, members can claim reimbursements of up to 100% on entry fees under £20 and £20 on higher cost fees.

The CSSC Training Scheme provides a level of reimbursement against fees for approved and accredited training to assist members who want to become a sports coach, referee, umpire or other official. The scheme will pay up to 50% of course costs up to £75.

CSSC Members who have gym memberships can save on fees by taking advantage of gym & classes discounts. There are over 3000 participating gyms to choose from, offering discounted memberships and vouchers.

Run, ride, swim, stride is recent addition to the CSSC My Active range where members can get the most out of their favourite fitness activity. With portals for running, walking, swimming and cycling, members at all levels of fitness can access the online resources which provide guidance, tools and support to either begin their journey or improve their performance.

The My Savings+ portal on the CSSC website is your doorway to a wealth of resources and support to help improve and maintain your health, fitness and wellbeing. Members can get a 33% discount off the virtual gym resource where they can subscribe to a variety of plans to gain access to live streamed classes with real time feedback, access to over 700 on demand classes, personalised fitness and nutrition plans and lots more. The Health and Wellbeing portal provides an abundance of material for members who want to learn more about healthy eating, minimising stress, getting a better night’s sleep and ways to improve your work/life balance.
