Inspire Me

When it comes to kick starting a healthier lifestyle, a little inspiration goes a long way.

Some new and inspirational stories of these CSSC members, as they go on a 6 week journey to reach their fitness goals.

Group 4

  • Michelle - After recently joining a slimming group, follow her progress as she trains for the 5K Colour obstacle Rush in June.
  • Sean - Sean is a Dad to a 2 year old who was born with a congenital heart disease. He has decided to challenge himself to take part in the British Heart Foundation's Pier to Pier swim in July.
  • Douglas - My main challenge is trying to rediscover the mind set and motivation to lead a healthy lifestyle through regular exercise and eating well.

Group 3

  • Emily – Follow her progress as she challenges herself to be able to run 5K by the end of the summer and to swim 22 miles
  • Gary – Join Gary and hear how he trains for the Liverpool Marathon coming up on 28th May.
  • John – Follow John’s progress as he trains for his first triathlon.
  • Kathy – Is hoping to achieve a weight loss and become healthier and also planning daily cycle rides.
  • Sarah – Busy Mum to an 11 year old son who has cystic fibrosis, Sarah is hoping to achieve her goal – a 5k parkrun.

Group 2

  • Andrew – Follow my training journey. For May 2017, I have the dream to run a 10km with the time that starts with my age, so 33:59 would do it! I guess we could call it 10k’ing your age!
  • Anne – Would you like to follow Anne’s progress as she trains for the Bristol 10k and Chilly Duathlon.
  • Dawn – A busy working mum with three children is hoping to build up her fitness levels and run 5k.
  • Keri – Is training for the Paris Marathon to feel a sense of achievement and kick start a more active lifestyle.
  • Nick – Follow Nick’s 6-week training journey leading up to the London Marathon, he is fund raising for Adoption UK – a charity close to his heart.
  • Wendy – Meet Wendy who has signed up for the London Marathon, a Cross Channel Relay swim and the Great North Run – what an inspiration!

Group 1

  • Janice - How’s this for inspiration, Janice is fast approaching her 100th half marathon and 100th parkrun, what an amazing achievement. Follow her progress as she trains for her half marathon.
  • Olivia – Would you like to follow Olivia’s progress as she trains for the Hampton Court Palace half marathon, which in her admission she is finding a challenge and is following a strict training plan.
  • Julia – Now recovered after an injury Julia is planning to run the OX5 (5 mile run) at Blenheim dressed as a bee, in aid of the Oxford Children’s hospital where both her daughters were treated.
  • Paul – Meet Paul who is retired and wants to inspire others to get fit whatever their age. 
  • Richard – is overcoming general anxiety disorder and wants to regain his fitness levels and positive energy by beginning to run and cycle more often.
  • Chris – Are you a Dad in desperate need of motivation? Chris is a Dad of a two year old and he is trying to balance work and family life along with training for the Barcelona Marathon.
  • John – A cycling enthusiast who has completed Lands End to John O Groats twice is now setting his sights on his local parkrun events.
