Ladies Golf Open/National Finals 2019
The Ladies Golf Open/National Finals were held at the Donnington Valley Golf Club near Newbury on 2-3 September 2019.
Who took part
Twenty-four ladies entered the event and there was a mix of ‘open’ competitors and regional winners (National Finalists).
The competition was played over two days in dry conditions. The course was extremely tough to play in places with some very interesting holes!
The results
The winner of the Scratch event was newcomer Toni Prince, coming in with a score over the two days of 170. Runner up in the Scratch was another newcomer Karen Sturges.
The Handicap event was won by Wendy Smith with a score of 145 and Karen Scott was the runner up. The winner of the best Stableford score over the two days was Karen Brotherton with a score of 64.
The event for 2020 is still in the planning stages but is expected to ‘go north’!
