Merit Award Winner | Chris Munden
Congratulations, Chris! One of our ten Merit Award winners being announced today.
"Chris has been volunteering since the 1970's where he was a committee member of the Weymouth Area Association. From the mid-1980's he was a committee member of the Customs and Excise Sport and Social Club and then the Customs & Excise Hockey Secretary – involved with the administration of the club as well as playing and umpiring.
Chris was instrumental at getting hockey into the very first CSSC Games event at Millfield. He also helped organise the event in Loughborough for the first two games there, before handing over the reins to the Women’s Hockey Association. He's always helpful to organisers of individual teams and "bends over backwards" to accommodate their requirements. He has a good working relationship with the Events Team at Head Office.
Chris is a highly respected member of the hockey fraternity both with players, past players and officials. There is no doubt men’s hockey would not have survived as long as it has without the continuing dedication and willingness by Chris to administer it – bringing on younger members to the committee roles and supporting them appropriately."
