Merit Award Winner | Paul Trevascus
Congratulations, Paul! Another one of our ten Merit Award winners.
Paul is currently the Treasurer for Swindon Area.
Here's more about his voluntary work behind-the-scenes.
"Paul joined as a CSSC member in 1975. He then volunteered to be Treasurer for Swindon in 1988 and undertook this role for around 9 years. Sadly, work pressures forced him to resign. But when he retired in 2009, he took on the Treasurer role again. Since then, the area has gone from strength to strength in terms of benefits and membership numbers. He transformed the area, bringing it into the 21st century. The accounts were brought immediately up to date, computerised, online banking set up, as well as producing budget forecasts every year. His record keeping is meticulous. His knowledge has also helped the Region by auditing their accounts and helping the Regional treasurer balance the books when they needed support.
Although technically his role is within finance, he goes way beyond this. Together with the area secretary he has helped to organise the Area’s activities. For example this year Paul has directly organised 11 events on his own and a further 19 with the area secretary. These events all sold out!
As CSSC is undergoing change Paul has taken on board the changes and has provided constructive feedback to support it further. Paul will go out of his way to assist members and regularly answers emails when on holiday on the other side of the world. He is the area driving force and without him the area would not be where it is today."
