This is a long-term crop and seeds can take 2 years before harvesting

When to sow seeds?

Sow outside from late March, depending on frost

When planting outside, ensure a sunny, sheltered position with fertile, well drained soil

Tips

Sow the seeds in cell trays, prick out into pots once seedlings are big enough.  When plants have grown their true leaves, start to feed weekly. Once plants are 20cm tall, remove side shoots to encourage more upwards growth.  Support plant with a cane, when fruits start to develop to support weight of the plant.
