Volunteer Week 2021
The Fellowship Award 2020
After receiving a Merit Award, many of our wonderful volunteers continue to display exceptional hard work, integrity and endeavour year-after-year, sometimes for decades!
To honour these unique and remarkable individuals we introduced the Fellowship Award in 2015. So join us in celebrating our final award winner this Volunteer Week. Congratulations, Debra Allott MBE!
Debra, the Chair of the North East and Yorkshire Region, is an outstanding volunteer who, throughout her many years with CSSC has shown innovation, determination, commitment, and passion for the roles she has taken on. She’s achieved many firsts with CSSC, becoming the first female to be appointed into a Regional Chair role for what was then the Yorkshire Region, and becoming the first Volunteer of the Year in 2007!
Debra is a volunteer who is not afraid to challenge and find new and innovative solutions to challenges she faces. She’s forward thinking and has been responsible and part of key developments at CSSC including the formation of the South Yorkshire Area Association and the successful merger of two Regions to form the North East and Yorkshire. In addition to this, Debra also volunteered as chair for her local HASSRA club for over 20 years and has been described as a key partner who has ensured ‘links to CSSC at a local and Regional level, encouraging membership of both CSSC and HASSRA for those eligible to join’.
Above all, Debra is just a delight to work with and a shining example of what CSSC volunteering is all about. She is sociable and always welcomes others so whether they have been with CSSC for years or just beginning their journey, they are always greeted with a bright smile and a warm heart. She understands and appreciates the level of dedication that volunteers give to CSSC and always ensures that they are thanked, recognised, and celebrated for the work they do. So, having recognised so many others, it is now time for us to shine the spotlight on this remarkable volunteer and recognise her with the highest accolade. Congratulations once again to our Fellowship Award Winner of 2021, Debra Allott MBE.
I’m absolutely shocked but delighted to win such a prestigious award and honoured to follow in the footsteps of previous winners. Thank you to the CSSC staff and volunteers for taking the time to nominate me
