Things To Do

National | Scuba Diving Trip to Gozo

06 Sep 2022
-
13 Sep 2022
1:00AM - 12:55PM

Venue

Scuba Kings are also the only centre on the island with its entire facilities on the seafront, which gives you somewhere great to hang out and enjoy your holiday. It also means you can just jump straight into the water for night dives, training and try dives, rather than spending your holiday time loading and unloading trucks to go somewhere.

The Accomodation is self catering apartments which are approved by the Maltese Tourist Authority (Government Licensed) and based in Marsalforn, there is a huge selection of fantastic restaurants and bars to choose from. Marsalforn Bay is also ideal for swimming or snorkelling, so you really do not need a swimming pool and you are welcome to leave your wetsuits in the dive centre, which is just on the sea front, 20 yards from the sea. There is also a new bus service that runs every hour to and from Ramla, one of Europe's best beaches as well as historic Victoria, so there is plenty to do and see.

Background

With the island being only 1/3 of the size of Malta, nothing is far away. This is great for diving as, if you are very unlucky and there are strong winds, your holiday is not spoilt, as it would be in mainland locations. This is because sheltered conditions on the far side of the island are at worst only a 20 minute drive away, always giving somewhere good to dive. Gozo has a wonderful climate, beaches and a rich heritage. English is the main language and cars drive on the left side of the road, giving Gozo a sense of home away from home for the British holidaymaker. Gozo is less expensive than nearby Malta and a lot less built up. The pace of life here is much slower and the locals are extremely friendly and laid back. Gozo offers true island life and a real chance to get away from it all without the crowds.

So why come along?

If you are looking for a wild party island with night clubs open all night and hoards of youths to get drunk with, then this really is not the place. Gozo has its share of night clubs but they are up-market and sophisticated. Gozo is a relaxed place where the pace of life is slow and it's almost always sunny. Gozo is certainly like no other island, it is quirky and original. While it is a mecca for divers, it is also a fantastic place for a family holiday.
