Capital Challenge 2021 (incorporating CSAA 10K Championship)

01 Sep 2021
2:00PM - 4:00PM

This event is subject to any current Covid restrictions imposed by the Government or at the venue.  All participants are required to adhere to all instructions which will be given out nearer the date of the event.

What is the Capital Challenge?

The Capital Challenge is an annual race for public sector employees, held in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.

Anyone who works in either the public sector, civil service or some other eligible companies that used to be in the public domain, such as BT or the Post Office, can take part in either a 10K or  5K running race .

It's open to all ages and abilities for both members and non-members alike, with the added bonus that members get between 15%-40% off entry fees.

Is the event right for me?

If you've never taken part in a run before, this could be a fantastic opportunity. Not only will you experience the thrill of running with cheering crowds and sharing in the camaraderie of a group challenge, but you'll also see, hear and feel one of London's most exciting parks, from the best view in town.

With two different national open sport events there's something for everyone, whether you're a novice, expert or never ran before.

The 10K run:

  • Starts at 2:00pm
  • Lee Valley VeloPark
  • Electronic chipping to track your race
  • Entry fee = members £7, non-members £12.00

The 5K run:

  • Starts at 2.00pm
  • Lee Valley VeloPark
  • Entry fee = members £5, non-members £6
  • Electronic chipping to track your race

New for this year, 5K wheelchair race

To complement our other events, this year we are introducing a brand new 5K wheelchair race

  • Start time will depend on number of entries recieved
  • Entry fee = members £4, non-members £5
