About Switch and Save

We believe people are still paying too much for their energy. CSSC Switch and Save helps members switch energy suppliers, move to a renewable electricity tariff and save money on their energy bills. Switching with us means you can benefit from the bargaining power of a large group.

By joining their purchasing power together over 27,000 CSSC members have they’ve made a collective saving of more than £850,000 since 2018. Members who switched in last Autumn scheme saved an average of £222 on their annual energy bill!

How the scheme works
  • Register for free, with no obligation, to see if you could save for the year ahead.
  • Suppliers bid in a reverse auction to provide participants with their cheapest offer.
  • You receive a personal offer, based on the winning tariff, to compare how much money you might save by switching.
  • If you wish to accept your offer, iChoosr will take care of the switchover for you. If you decide not to switch that’s fine too, and you can choose to participate in the next scheme to see if you could make a saving then.
Key dates
  • Launch of Autumn scheme: 3 August
  • Register by auction: 12 October
  • Offers out from: 25 October
  • Close: 23 November
Tariff Cap

We know that in May some of the offered tariffs were higher than anticipated. The last year has been very unusual for the energy markets with persistently rising wholesale prices meaning they are now at a 10 year high. This has resulted in some standard variable tariffs being cheaper than some fixed tariffs. The tariff cap, which limits standard variable tariffs, is increasing by £139 as of 1st October 2021. This means that whether you switch or not you are likely to see your energy bills going up. A fixed tariff will offer peace of mind that your rates won’t go up anymore for a year.

Available between: 3rd August to 29th November

Always a good switch

Didn't take it up the last time

Switch got bungled. My electricity got switched while my gas didn't . Nobody bothered to tell me there was an issue. Now stuck in between 2 providers and left to sort out the mess by myself.

Saved £109 for my 1st year

My rate actually increased when I used this switching scheme. The only thing I don't know is: would my energy costs have increased anyway? I can't really answer that.

It was ok previously, but not as good as MSE!

Changed to Octopus, which is not only greener but much cheaper than our previous supplier (found under the Martin Lewis energy supplier scheme).

Keenly priced. Good online communication

Would only save me £3! Not worth it.

A big Thank You to the team. I changed the beginning of the year with CSSC, no hassle, nothing to do, it was all taken care of. Would definitely recommend all members to just do it! It’ll save you money as I have saved.
