At 1085m, Snowdon dominates the landscape of Snowdonia National Park. From the first views of the waterfall plunging into the gorge below at the start of the journey, to the breath-taking sights over the sheer edge of Rocky Valley, every moment is memorable.

How to Book

CSSC members can receive a discount at Snowdon Mountain Railway on return travel on the Traditional Diesel Service, any time of day for the reduced rate of:

Summit (May – October)
  • £25 per adult (usual price £31 per adult)
  • £16 per child (usual price £21 per child)
Clogwyn (March – April)
  • £18 per adult (usual price £25 per adult)
  • £12 per child (usual price £15 per child)

Bookings must be made in advance by calling 01286 870 223 (after 13:00 daily). When making a booking, please inform the ticket office of CSSC membership, so that discount can be applied upon the collection of the tickets. Valid membership card must be shown upon collection of tickets.

Journey duration:

Summit – the service is approximately 2.5 hours which includes a stop of approximately 30 minutes at the Summit

Clogwyn – the service is approximately 2 hours which includes a stop of 30 minutes at Clowyn station, where the open mountainside offers stunning views. Please note: there are no facilities at Clogwyn.

Available between: 20th March to 27th October

Exclusion dates are as follows:

  • 10 April 2020 – 13 April 2020
  • 25 May 2020 – 31 May 2020
  • 18 July 2020 – 2 September 2020

Special Guidance

Weather permitting trains will run every day from Friday 20th March until Sunday 26th October. From March to early May trains will terminate at the unsheltered Clogwyn Station, ¾ up the mountain (subject to winter weather conditions). The Summit Station is the usual destination between May and the end of October (weather permitting).
