Kensington Palace began as a rural retreat for King William III as he escaped central London due to his ailing health. William and Mary’s royal residence quickly became the epicentre of courtly life for late Stuart and Hanoverian monarchs.
Today, Kensington Palace still serves as a private royal residence, while its public side welcomes visitors to the King’s and Queen’s State Apartments.

Not as much to see as other palaces but obviously not a problem with free entry.
Brilliant day out with friends. Fabulous team of historical actors, they really knew their stuff! They were chatting with the public, but still in character and answering a whole array of questions! Beautiful gardens too and feet coffee shop!
Very interesting and beautifully presented Palace. Staff were friendly and attentive and CSSC membership made it incredibly good value.
We enjoyed a look around Kensington Palace during a day out at Hyde Park, not great for little ones but keeps us entertained for an hour or so.
Great day out, beautiful palace and grounds
Fabulous, had a good time
Excellent perk to the membership! We had a wonderful family day out here!
Lovely afternoon out, they recommend 90 minutes to tour the palace but with the extra Queen Victoria exhibition it was easily 2+ hours. Went with older visiting relatives and two children under 12 and all enjoyed it very much. Gardens are beautiful too, nice coffee and gift shop on site and plenty to do in Kensington Gardens afterwards. Highly recommend.
