Overview

The tour is ran by Karly, who is a qualified historian and knows Edinburgh like the back of her hand. The city has become so multicultural over the last 10 years, and Karly's passion is to showcase the capital's hidden food and drink gems, away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.

The tour was created to give visitors an authentic take on Edinburgh through the eyes of its locals, whilst giving back to the community by providing custom to local independent eateries.

What's involved

The Scottish food and drink journey will begin outside the historic Barclay Viewforth Church in Bruntsfield.

From there you will visit Edinburgh's biggest park and greenspace, the Meadows, for some history about what really happened on this land that dates back to Medieval times.

You will then travel on foot to two, artisan areas of Edinburgh where you will visit four over-the-counter eateries and two drinking establishments to sample some of Scotland's finest alcohol and traditional culinary delights, taking in the history of these areas you go.

If you're up for a good time, love food and drink and a bit of history thrown in, then this tour of Edinburgh is perfect for you!
