Come to Kew Gardens this autumn to explore the fascinating plants, art and culture of Japan. From stunning artistic displays to a Momijigari Trail around the Gardens, our festival offers so much to celebrate.
Japan after hours
Come to a wonderful evening of Japanese plants, art and culture in the Temperate House as part of our autumn festival. From dance theatre and live music performances to traditional flower arranging and sake sipping, there's so much to explore.
Learn all about bamboo, the fastest woody plant in the world, as you wander between the fronds at Kew's bamboo garden until you reach the Minka house. A treasured feature of Japanese heritage, many of these farmhouses have been preserved as historic landmarks.
