Now that the sun has started to shine please have a look at the Regional Events Calendar, we have hundreds of events planned from Football, Golf, Bowles, Netball, Sailing, Clay Shooting, Theater Trips and even a day out at Butlins.

Barbados Challenge
The Barbados Challenge is a fantastic way of getting involved and active within CSSC.
The Challenge is back for 2011 with even more events! You may be surprised to learn that you do not have to be a "county standard" to win a subsidised place to Barbados; some past qualifiers have won a place on their first attempt at playing the sport. With 21 Events from Scrabble to Rounders there is something for everyone. Why not give it a go? Information on all the events can be found here

The closing date for entries into the CSSC Games is 31 July 2011. If you want to take part in this fantastic event, don't forget to get your forms in soon!  Civil Service Insurance Society is proud to once again be the main sponsor of The CSSC Games for 2011 and looks forward to another great sporting spectacle at Loughborough in September.

Remember CSSC Games
The Southern Region have agreed a Region wide policy to provide financial assistance to CSSC members taking part in the 2011 CSSC Games. The policy is aimed at establishing a consistent level of support to members across the Region and in doing so promoting an increased level of participation in the Games. Full details of how and how much can be claimed can be found on the Guidance Notes.

Dragon Boat Festival
26 June 2011
We are looking for up to 20 people to form a crew for a Dragon Boat at the festival taking place on Willen Lake, Milton Keynes. No previous experience is required. Spectators are all welcome.

Cricket at The Rosebowl
It's back... only a couple of weeks to go and the cricket season will be with us once again.  All you have to do as a member of Portsmouth CSSC to win a pair of tickets is to email cssc_cricketdraw@hotmail.co.uk giving your name, department, CSSC member number and preferred telephone number.

National Events

Forget that lake inland, this is sailing by the seaside! From 23-24 July 2011, our CSSC national competition takes place at Netley Cliff SC on Southampton Water.  Click here for more information.

World Class Hockey Comes to London - 12-16 July 2011
Watch England Hockey men battle with Belgium, Korea and New Zealand for the inaugural LONDON CUP in Chiswick this July. Eight fantastic hockey matches, FunZone where kids of all ages can have a go at hockey PLUS superb hospitality events.  Come and marvel at the pace and power of international men's hockey from Tuesday 12 - Saturday 16 July 2011.
The code is CSS01 - which can be applied for 15% off grandstand tickets only. The number you need to call is 0844 499 3222, alternatively you can log on to their website which is England Hockey and you can obtain more information and also get to the ticket zone website to pay online.

Sailing Championships 23-24th July - Netley Cliff CSSC The Event Organiser is looking for volunteers to assist in the running of the weekend. If you are interested in any of the roles below please contact Peter Robbins for more information. Safety Boat and general RIB crews (need to have an idea of experience and qualification such as level 2 or safety boat etc). Bar staff (planned to work on a rota so no one has the whole nights in the bar, unless some one wants too...) Site security (to work with Andy Philips). Beach staff to assist in helping crews
Galley staff(nominated to cover if needed). Race administration (working with Amanda Bowens). Committee boat staff (nominated to cover if needed).

We need your help please!
We have recently launched a project civil service wide via the Head of Communications for the civil service to try to recruit more CSSC members. Information was sent through to Government Department intranets giving ALL civil servants access to 3 Countdown offers for 2 months.
