CSSC is a voluntary organisation, run by its members for its members. All of the regional and local events are brought to you by a hard working and dedicated bunch of volunteers. Without them CSSC could not function and we take every opportunity we can to thank them.

There are lots of ways of recognising volunteer contributions e.g. the long standing Merit Award, the Volunteer of the Year and Certificates of Recognition. We rely on members and other volunteers to put forward people for these awards and 3 members were recommended for the Yorkshire Regional Chairperson's Awards. To see the 2011 winners photos and to hear why they were nominated see the article .

Don't forget - if you receive good service from any Yorkshire volunteer then say "thank you" and if you think that they deserve an award then please nominate them. All of CSSC award schemes can be found on the volunteer part of the website here. 

If you have any feedback, good or bad, we want to hear from you! Are there any activities that you'd like the Region to try and stage? Did you know that you can get financial help to attend events? Do you want more information on what is available in your Area? Give your feedback via a questionnaire that can be found on the website. Everyone who responds by 29 February will be entered into a draw with a chance of winning £100 of vouchers.

Committee Vacancy - we currently looking for a Volunteer Support Officer to support the work that the regional board does on behalf of volunteers and members. A role description and application form can be found on the . 

CSSC National Flying Competition - this takes place at the Sleap Airfield in Shropshire on 29 April 2012. It is open to pilots and a maximum of 2 passengers. If this interests you please the website article here

Combined Darts, Pool & Snooker - we are trialling holding all 3 events on the same day at the same venue - Riley's, Doncaster on 4 May. Less travelling, less time off work, more events to enjoy! The Alternative Olympics - It's early days yet and we are still in the planning stages but we are planning our own alternative to the Olympics e.g. instead of shotput, we'll be throwing wellies, 100 metres may be 3-legged, table tennis will be keepy uppy. Get the idea? It will be at Askham College in the summer and will probably be on a Saturday with a disco in the evening and overnight stay, depart after breakfast. As soon as the detail is confirmed it will be put on to the website so keep checking the Yorkshire pages.
