Despite continuing reductions in Civil Service numbers and the chilly economic climate, 2011 has been a good year for CSSC. Many exciting and interesting activities have been organised for our members. A particular highlight for me was The CSSC Games in September which was, by all accounts, one of our best-ever events.The success of all that we do continues to depend on the sterling efforts of our volunteers. For that reason, I extend my immense gratitude, and profound thanks, to all V News readers for the work that you do. The end of December 2011 marks the point at which I leave my post at the Department for Education and, as a consequence, step down as Chairman of CSSC. It has been nothing other than an immense pleasure to serve in this role. I wish all of you, and CSSC, every success in the future.
