I am delighted to be given the opportunity to introduce myself as a recently appointed Executive Vice-Chairman. I chair CSSC's Volunteer Committee and I am the deputy chair of the Sports and Leisure Committee. I bring to the role a wealth of experience in CSSC including being an Area Association Treasurer for 25 years, a Regional Officer for 17 years and a member of CSSC's Management Board since 1997. You could say I am passionate about CSSC! And if that isn't enough I get a different perspective of volunteering through being the Chair of Governors at a local Primary School - an equally rewarding and interesting experience.
Crucial to the success of CSSC, now and in the future, is you the volunteer. And that is why the Volunteer Committee is committed to supporting you in what you do for CSSC. Early next year you will see plenty of activity as we look to build on our volunteer development. For example we have recognised that we need make it easier for you to find the tools that you need to fulfil your volunteering roles and that is why you can expect to see some changes and enhancements to the volunteering section of the website. And that is why we have brought you an online induction module. Give it a go, it'll only take you 20 minutes and it contains lots of useful information. Click here to see it. You will also find details later in this eNewsletter information on CSSC's Merit Award winners. Volunteer recognition is an important part of volunteering and CSSC's Merit Award is the highest accolade a volunteer can receive from CSSC. Well done to the two recipients.
