Find out what's been added to our newly-updated Subsidy Scheme:

There's nothing CSSC likes more than to help get and keep members active, to get them to try new things and to take on new challenges, so our increasingly popular subsidy schemes really help to make a difference.

Each one assists members to undertake activity or training when and where it best suits you rather than dictating a date, a time or a venue. Take a look and be a part of the action for 2012.

Activity Subsidy Scheme Scuba Diving

The Activity Subsidy Scheme cuts the cost of taking part in prescribed sports by guaranteeing
a set reimbursement against the entry fees of certain activities. The activities are:

  • All running events of 5 miles or over including 10Ks, Half Marathons, Marathons etc
  • Cycling challenges, including mountain biking, London to Brighton etc
  • Triathlons - including short course and other variations of the sport
  • Open Water Swimming events

The only events excluded are CSSC events for these activities which are, by their very natDeep water swimmingure, already subsidised.

Training Subsidy Scheme - New for 2012

Several members have asked whether CSSC could help with training costs to assist them become a sports coach, referee, umpire or other official.

So, from January 2012, CSSC will introduce a new scheme to provide a guaranteed level of reimbursement against fees for accredited training for these roles.

The scheme will pay up to 50% of the course costs with a maximum per course reimbursement of £75 for any member undertaking accredited training for sports coaching, refereeing, umpiring or similar roles as an official.

The precise details of the scheme will be released towards the end of the year, but if you were thinking about 'giving something back' to your favourite sport but were put off by the fees, CSSC will, very shortly, be able to help. Watch this space for more details.

Scuba Diving Scheme

We know there is a growing band of members that are getting hooked on Scuba Diving and
CSSC is keen to establish the size f this group and to establish what activities and benefits
they might like.

To help with this, the Scuba Diving Subsidy Scheme continues for 2012 and allows members to claim 50% reimbursement against their BSAC or PADI memberships.

So three great ways for members to get and stay active and to save money at the same time.
