CSSC Trophies 2010
CENTELS SALVER
Awarded to Emma Wise for her achievements in CSSC swimming in 2010.
Emma had a very successful year at CSSC's swimming championships and was Victrix Ludorum (best overall female competitor). She competed on behalf of CSSC against Combined Services and British Police.
She also volunteered as MOD Ladies Swimming Secretary and, as a result, became directly involved in organising a part of CSSC's national programme.
WARREN FISHER CUP
Gary Pennington received the award in recognition of his achievements in CSSC athletics in 2010.
Gary is a Masters athlete, in the 40 - 44 age category. He won Open and Masters track events (including a M40 championship record) and also won the CSAA highly competitive 10K road race in an impressive time of 32:42 (2nd place runner one minute behind).
He also delivered the fastest leg in the team race and was 3rd in the CSSC Open Cross Country Champs.
His record outside of CSSC was also impressive with four 1st places in major open events and several top 25 or better UK age category rankings - ranked 12th and 18th 5km Track and Road respectively.
HAYWARD TROPHY
CS Squash Racquets Association were awarded the Hayward Trophy for the sports and activity body that did the most for its activity and membership in 2010.
The CSSRA had never won the award since its inception in 1992 and were delighted to receive the Hayward Trophy.
The Association has never traded on complacency seeking always to ensure its activity programme reflected interest amongst members. Over recent years the Association has introduced new style events which have helped to maintain participation in CSSC squash.
DUKE OF YORK
For the first time in their history DEFRA SSA were awarded the Duke of York Trophy in recognition of their achievement in CSSC national competitions in 2010. Second place went to RCSL, followed by HASSRA in 3rd place, DSRA in 4th and JURA in 5th place.
