CSSC Recognition Scheme - Major Trophies 2010
What are the major trophies?
CSSC's major trophies are awarded annually in recognition of outstanding achievement across CSSC by individuals, Area Associations (AAs) Sport and Recreation Bodies (SRBs) and Departmental Associations (DAs).
The trophies are an opportunity for individuals and organisations to receive recognition and financial support for their achievement during a specific year.
The Warren Fisher Cup is awarded annually to the male CSSC member with the best record of achievement in CSSC activities within that year.
The Centels Salver is awarded annually to the female CSSC member with the best record of achievement in CSSC activities in that year.
The Hayward Trophy is presented to the SRB that has achieved the most for its activity and membership in that year.
The Russell Scott Trophy is given to the AA with the best all round record in that year.
The Duke of York Trophy (DoY)
The DoY is awarded annually to the Departmental Association (DA) with the best record in that year.
The DoY winner is determined by the assessment of two factors, namely
a. Points derived in qualifying CSSC sporting competitions in the relevant year. All national competitive CSSC events that include a team element and where a discrete DA entry can be drawn from the results will be included. Points will be awarded to the DA entries in the highest four positions of each competition not, as previously, restricted just to the top four placings.
b. A weighting factor determined by the level of CSSC membership with the DA's workplace catchment.
The DA with the highest aggregate points score shall be awarded the DoY at CSSC's Annual Conference. No other additional material will be required to determine the winning DA recipient.
DAs will not be required to provide a submission for the DoY. Entry will be automatic as the calculation of the total points will be made by CSSC Head Office, thus saving colleagues the time and effort involved in compiling and submitting an entry.
