North West Conference
The weekend of the 28/29 November saw the last of the regional conferences for 2010, held at the Cottons Hotel in Knutsford volunteers and organisers from all over the North West region were joined by representatives from CSSC head office.
Following a brief update on what the North West exec committee had done over the last 12 months, we got to the main topic, which was to try and introduce a common subsidy policy for CSSC regional and national events for all members across the North West, to try and make it 'fair for all', following some syndicate exercises and lively debate we have come away with plenty of information to hopefully put into a document for discussion early in the new year.
During the evening, the following received awards, Peter Sullivan won the presidents award for services to Preston and Chorley Area Association, Allan Grafton and Wendy Hodkinson receive awards for long services given to CSSC in their respective sports, and Dave Wyatt received a certificate of recognition for his services to cycling and assistance on the Manchester AA.
Also during the evening we held a quiz, which normally wouldn't receive a mention, but felt I had to, as once again David Hayday managed to be in the winning quiz team, and I was just wondering does this seem to happen elsewhere……
After a quick catch up on the Monday morning, David Hayday, Emma Hermon and Kate Newberry gave all the delegates an update on what's happening in CSSC and an insight into what we have to look forward to, and although David did manage to go over his allotted time, it was only by 1 minute.
Everyone who attended seemed to enjoy the conference and got a good view of where CSSC is at the moment and where we are going.
