In recognition of their valuable efforts the North East Region organised a free day at Center Parcs for volunteers from across all parts of CSSC in the North East.
Each volunteer and their partner were given free access to Center Parcs with children costing only a token amount and under 3's going free.
Staged at the Center Parcs site at Whinfell Forest on 28 May volunteers were able to experience a lovely warm and sunny day. Whinfell Forest is nestled in a stunning landscape on the edge of the Lake District and is a wildlife haven, home to one of the few remaining colonies of Red Squirrels.
The volunteers and their families were able to enjoy all the facilities of resident guests, including the exhilarating Canyon Ride in the Subtropical Swimming Paradise, taking stroll around the lake to the dynamic Sports Plaza or visiting the superb Aqua Sana for a soothing Balinese Steam Bath,
Many decided to be a bit more adventurous and try some of the exciting pursuits at the new Outdoor Activity Centre, featuring a range of physical challenges, from quad biking to archery, laser clays to paintballing.
Towards the end of the day a buffet was organised which allowed everyone to refuel before they made the journey home to the North East.
