All membership organisations have a clear responsibility to deal carefully and securely with the data of members. This responsibility relates not only to the individual members who have entrusted their details to us but the organisation must also be able to demonstrate that we are compliant with relevant Data Protection legislation.
CSSC Head Office is pleased to provide certain items of membership data to nominated volunteer officials of affiliated groups to help in the proper conduct of CSSC business. For more information on how to request membership listings, please click here.
But what happens to these and other reports when you get them? Do you only request what you actually need? How is the data stored? Who has access to it? What happens when you've finished using a report? These are all important questions that you and your committees must address and satisfy yourselves with.
Some CSSC groups also gather their own data from time to time and the same principles must apply.
