Advertising Your Volunteering VacanciesVacancyGraphic

You may be fortunate enough to have many enthusiastic volunteers but there are sometimes certain volunteering roles that Associations struggle to fill. This may not be due to the fact that there is nobody out there with the relevant skills and enthusiasm to tackle the role; it may simply be the case that the Association's membership is not aware that these particular roles need to be filled.

Actively promoting and advertising the volunteer opportunities available within your association to members may directly encourage people to come forward and offer to get involved.

There are many ways of making people within your association aware of volunteering vacancies, ideas include:

  • Posting information and adverts on workplace notice-boards
  • Advertising volunteering vacancies on the CSSC website
  • Seeking the help of the local CSSC BDE (Business Development Executive)
  • Emailing Association members
  • Utilise your Association Committee; they can chat informally to members in order to assess interest in getting involved
  • Word of mouth - spread the word amongst members!
  • Promote and advertise vacancies at association events

Our Role Outlines page offers you a number of downloadable role descriptions for typical volunteering positions within CSSC; providing a useful idea of the skills and responsibilities required of the individual carrying out each job. You can use these role descriptions if you are advertising for that position, or alternatively, can adapt these templates to suit the needs of your association or club, tailoring them depending on what you require from the role.
