It's Good to Share
The Good Practice Bank is very much in its infancy but with your help it is hoped it will grow steadily as more information is added to it. An important feature of the Bank is allowing users to share their documents and/or ideas with other CSSC volunteers. Your contribution to this valuable initiative can cover any area of what we do, but the following are some possible areas where you or your fellow volunteers may be doing something that others would be delighted to find out about?
Events & Activities - have you introduced a particularly popular event or introduced a simple way for members to suggest and gain support for a new activity?
Promoting Activity - Have you found a cracking way of promoting events, activities or the organisers who run events for you? Do you have a whizzy poster scheme, a killer email scheme or other system? How do you help ensure members get all the CSSC material they should receive and how do you utilise the CSSC website to help?
Membership Recruitment - This is an ongoing challenge for CSSC. How does your part of CSSC go about maximising membership recruitment? Any particular ideas that work really well for you?
Welcoming New Members or participants - Once recruited or interested in your activity, what does your part of CSSC do to welcome new members or new participants in your activities?
Volunteering - Do you have any particularly good ways of recruiting, training or utilising volunteers? What do you do to provide support and assistance that others would find useful? What about recognition? Do you say thank you in a particularly novel or unusual way?
Clubs - Running a club is a complex business. Has your club got any tips, particularly good deals or advice for other clubs that might save money or time or increase bookings and usage?
Finance - Do you have a particularly effective way of maintaining up to date and accurate accounts? Have you found a particularly good value bank account that others might want to check out? Any local systems or proformas that other groups would find useful?
Committees - All Committees are the same aren't they? Far from it! Do you have a really good way of conducting your business? Maybe a clever type of agenda, a different approach to meetings or a clever way of sharing the load between the volunteers involved?
Incentives - Catching the eye of members and potential members can be really important in gaining interest. Do you conduct any ongoing or occasional incentive schemes that other parts of CSSC might be able to replicate or adapt?
Consultation With Members - Knowing what your members want can be difficult to establish. How do you check that what you're offering is what members want? Have you found a quick and easy way to gather views and how do you use this information?
Membership Retention - Recruiting new members is all very well, but what about existing members? What initiatives have you introduced that are specifically aimed at maintaining the interest of existing members?
