Certificates of Recognition

CSSC has handed out a number of Certificates of Recognition over the past few months.

In October and November, Area Association stalwarts Keith Bezant (Cardiff) and Dennis Kilpatrick (Chatham) were presented with the coveted award that recognises outstanding contribution made by the large number of volunteers that the organisation so proudly boasts.

Dennis first joined the Area Association as a committee member in 1958 and since 1968 he has been the Association's treasurer.

Keith, meanwhile, has been involved with Cardiff for many years during which time he was a key figure in helping to operate the AA's sport ground until its recent closure.

He has been ever present in the resurrection of the AA after the closure where his enthusiasm and experience has been warmly welcomed by the AA's committee comprising, with the exception of Keith, of members new to AA management.

More recently Charles Bowering was in line in recognition of his outstanding voluntary service as CSSC Eastern's Chess organiser for over 10 years.

Charles revived the regional event and his enthusiasm, innovation and inimitable style has ensured it has continued to flourish.

Also scheduled to enter a privileged group of CSSC members is Jim Wilson, a keen member of the CS Bowls Association and CSSC Midlands Treasurer.

And at the same time the Volunteer Working Group approved Certificates for:

Peter Lawson and Mark Simons - Newcastle AA
Chris Munden - CS Men's Hockey Association
Bill Berry - CS Athletics Association
Tony Cliff - CSSC Angling Council
John Wiseman - Preston and Chorley AA
Marjorie Own - Chester AA
Peter Ferguson - Manchester AA
