The Russell Scott Trophy
This is awarded to the Area Association with the best all round record in 2008, presented at CSSC's 2009 Annual Conference.
Winner - Cardiff AA - Chairwoman Tracey Barry, Companies House.
Cardiff AA had an excellent 2008, offering a wide range of activity, and members' offers. The Area Association made a concerted effort to recruit new members - 287 new members, in fact. The Area Association can boast a wide and varied programme, including a 25% subsidy scheme for local authority leisure facilities and theatre tickets. Over 1000 members took part in the Area Association's regular prize draw with the prize being tickets for a range of major sports events in Cardiff. The AA also held a Christmas prize draw in November and December, which attracted 183 new members.
There is no doubt Cardiff is worthy of recognition. Bolton and York also deserve appreciation. However, Cardiff's service to members has been outstanding and justifies the award for their efforts in 2008.
