Find out more about Mervyn Stanley, Yorkshire Regional Chairman.

I was born in 1949. After high school and college, I then dropped out of university. 1970 saw me working as a door-to-door salesman of encyclopaedias and freezers. From 1971, I was a betting office manager, before joining the Inland Revenue in 1976.

I was the first secretary of Shipley Accounts Office Sports and Social Club and got it off the ground. I was then head-hunted for CSSC to help run the Bradford CSSC Club. I was elected to CSSC's Management Board in 2000 and became the Chairman of the Yorkshire Region and the CSSC Angling Council in the mid-noughties.

I am interested in all sports and I was a county tenpin bowler in the 1980s. I have been married and divorced and am currently available to go to a good home. I've really enjoyed my time with CSSC and have met some great people along the way. I still have loads more to offer and hope to get lots more people involved with this great organisation.
