CSSC Yorkshire Badminton Tournament
| Venue: Railway Institute, York Date: Saturday 15th December 2007 This year the competition took place later than normal, which was reflected in the number of entries received. Next year I hope to find a suitable date in October to run the tournament. Once again there were three competitions, Ladies, Men's and Mixed Doubles and for the first time we used the new scoring system. As the competitions were run on a Round Robin basis everyone had plenty of games. The winners and runners up were as follows: Winners Ladies Doubles - Joy Wilson / Lesley McCartney Men's Doubles - Giles Budge / James Chisholm Mixed Doubles - Giles Budge / Lesley McCartney Runners up Ladies Doubles - Candy Lam / Vicky Platt Men's Double - sTony Tate / Brian Campbell Mixed Doubles - James Chisholm / Joy Wilson It is hoped that the winners of the Men's and Ladies Doubles will represent the Yorkshire Region at Birmingham in the CSSC National Championships. The winners will also receive Polo Shirts to wear at the finals. Once again many of the games were very close. I thank all who took part in what turned out to be a very enjoyable afternoon.
