CSSC York Area Association Netball Club

The CSSC York Netball Club held its first training session in January 2007.

Interested members came from all areas of the civil service in and around York, including the Ministry of Defence, Defra, Crown Prosecution Service and Pesticides Safety Directorate.  It soon became established as a fully functioning club with a constitution of elected officers and committee members, holding regular meetings throughout the year.
From the start we were extremely lucky that Imelda Duncan (Mell to netball players!) heard about our new club and offered her services as coach and trainer. Mell is a highly experienced coach, having trained three Welsh Satellite squads and the Under 16s Academy, Hull. 
She has continued to work on the team's netball skills and as players we have developed tremendously over the last year.  She now coaches us every 2 weeks in 3 out of season and around 1 in 4 in-season and we all enjoy a good work out and thought-provoking netball drills when she is with us. Unlike many clubs in the York area, we train throughout the summer months and arrange a number of friendly matches against local teams. In addition, we have taken part in various netball tournaments, both in York and further afield.  

The club currently trains at Robert Wilkinson Primary School, Strensall on Wednesday evenings from 6-7:30pm.  It is anticipated that we shall be moving to the new ROKO site some time in the summer and dates will be fully published in due course.
