Event DescriptionImprove your mountain biking skills!
First come first served, although a reserve list will be held.
Discover an amazing new sport, or seriously improve your existing bike skills. If you suspect your bike's capable of much more, you're almost certainly right...a bit of coaching & there'll be no need for your mates to leave you behind on technical trails again!
The instruction will be from around 10am till 4pm. Maximum of 8 people on this day, minimum of 2.
Each CSSC member can bring one non-CSSC guest. Minimum age of 14.
£10 subsidy is for current CSSC Yorkshire Region members.
Takes place in Dalby Forest, North Yorkshire. A fantastic place for Mountain biking, and suitable for all weathers. Access is via Thornton le Dale on the A170 Helmsley to Scarborough Road. Watch for brown tourist signs. Do not use the sat nav postcode, as it sends you to a private road.
Meet at 9.30am for a 10am start. We will meet at Dixon's Hollow in the forest, past the visitors' centre. You can bring your own bike, or use an instructor's. Please state your height on the booking form if you want to borrow a bike, or that you will bring your own (please state bike age, make and model). You will need to bring waterproofs and packed lunch. Joining instructions will be sent out two weeks before the event.
What will this day cover?
Intermediate/Advanced Courses
Add to your existing skills: • manuals & wheelies • rear wheel lifts & bunny hops • bigger drops • air! Yes, you can learn, not just hope for the best! • steep, tight berms • picking a line in the tech stuff • faster descending • cornering It goes without saying that the above is just a guide, and the courses aren't limited. If the group learns fast, then we'll cover a bit more.
