West Riding and Craven Area issued an open invite to CSSC members to attend a day trip on the Huddersfield to Manchester Victoria Railway on Friday May 15.
There are a number of Real Ale pubs on or near to many of the stations on this line and the trip was featured in a recent TV show with James May and Oz Clarke.
A dozen members met at Head of Steam pub , situated at the Western end of Huddersfield station. The group then proceeded to make their way along the line, stopping at places such as Marsden Village, Greenfield and Stalybridge. We found a couple of gems of a watering hole surrounded by scenic views and beautiful hills. A relaxing and enjoyable day was had by everyone.
