Mervyn Stanley reports on a recent presentation of a Certificate of Recognition to Craig Ingham.
I recently had the honour of being invited to a South Yorkshire Area Executive Meeting to present a Certificate of Recognition to Craig Ingham.I must say that I was very impressed at the number attending the meeting and the professional way it was conducted. Although there was a long agenda, the business was done quickly but thoroughly. It was also a chance to show the Yorkshire Area of the Year award to the full Executive Committee. It had been awarded at the recent Yorkshire Regional Conference, which not all of the members could attend. The hospitality was nothing less than I would expect from South Yorkshire and I was made to feel very welcome. Even my frequent interruptions were tolerated with good grace! It is apparent that South Yorkshire has a very interesting and busy year in prospect in 2010, all due to the hard work and dedication of the volunteers. South Yorkshire members should feel extremely lucky that they have such a great bunch of people working on their behalf. As previously mentioned, my main reason for being there was to present Craig Ingham with his National Certificate of Recognition. As you will, or should, be aware, Craig has worked tirelessly as South Yorkshire Area Treasurer since its inception and the area could not have got through the difficult setting-up period without his hard work. Banks are not the easiest of institutes to deal with when starting a new venture. The photograph shows the presentation at the Varsity Bar in Sheffield. Craig is the good-looking one!Once again, I should like to thank the committee for the invitation, and I wish you all every success for the New Year and I hope that you support the events organised by this dedicated band of volunteers.
