Role Outline - Volunteer Co-ordinator (Wales)

The CSSC Welsh Region (Team Cymru) are looking to restructure and are looking for people to join the committee. The following role is available and we are looking for 1 representative in Wales for this post.

 Elected at  Regional Annual Conference
 Who will I be responsible to?  Regional Chairman
 Who will I report to?  Regional Chairman
 Current Tasks include
  • Formulate and lead the implementation of Volunteer Support Plan to recruit, train, motivate, retain and reward all volunteers contributing to the Association.
  • Review Roles and Responsibilities (task descriptions for Association personnel) with the current post holders and recommend any changes to the Association committee
  • Arranging 'buddies' or mentors for new post holders
  • 'Talent spot' potential volunteers
  • Promote Association volunteer of the month and year awards
  • Provide support and feedback to volunteers
  • Maintain and update a volunteer database
  • Organise a recruitment 'fair' at an Association social event
  • Arrange an annual awards ceremony/social evening for volunteers.
  • Organise regular meetings for volunteers to exchange ideas/solve problems
  • Conduct a 'skills audit' of current association members to find out what expertise there is available.
  • Make contact with the CSSC Business Development Executive as a source of volunteer recruitment
  • Attend Association committee meetings
 How much time will I need to give? 1-2 hours per week.You will be asked to attend 4 meetings per year, around the country.

 What support is available to me?

The Business Support Team will be able to assist you, along with the CSSC Event Team
 Expenses  These will be paid in line with the Regional policy.

 What else can you tell me about the role?

Although not essential, it would be helpful to have a good working knowledge of the Region.

As Volunteer Co-ordinator it is preferable that you have strong inter personal skills, be approachable, diplomatic, a good listener, good at problem solving and motivating others.
