Welsh Angling National Qualifier - Llyn Brenig

CSSC Wales – National Qualifier at Llyn Brenig on 19 June 2009

Eighteen anglers (including guests from the North West region) competed in the CSSC Wales qualifier at Llyn Brenig and weighed in a total of 62 rainbow trout and 1 brown trout, averaging a disappointing 1lbs 6 ozs.

A variety of methods were working, but dabblers and boobies on a fast glass line seemed to produce the best response. The best area proved to be the dam wall, where the top two anglers, Albert Rodrigues and Geraint Thomas, both bagged up with 6 fish limits by 1.00 pm. Geraint also weighed in the heaviest fish at 2lbs 05ozs and heaviest bag (excluding time bonus), his 6 trout weighing 9lbs 01 oz.

Geraint and Albert, pictured, now go on to represent CSSC Wales at Eyebrook reservoir on 27 August.
