Barbados Challenge Netball Results

On Sunday 28th September, four netball teams gathered at Bentham Country Club to play for a place to represent the South West region in Barbados.
 
The four teams were:
 
HASSRA South West
Abbey Wood Laurels
Salisbury Swans
Bond Villains (Chelt)
 
A round Robin was played to select the top two teams for the Grand Final. The scores after the Round Robin were:
 
Abbey Wood Laurels - 9
Bond Villains - 6
Salisbury Swans - 4
HASSRA SW - 3
 
Abbey Wood Laurels and Bond Villains met in the final.
 
Although the Laurels were undefeated during the Round Robin, the Bond Villains came out strongly in the first half, with a half time score of 7 - 2. At the beginning of the second half, the Laurels put the pressure on and pulled the score line back to 7 - 6. However the Bond Villains were determined to book their place on the flight to Barbados and finished the game 3 goals ahead, the final score being 11 - 7.
