Lindsay Clitherow Receives Certificate of Recognition
Lindsay Clitherow was presented with her award at the South West Conference, at the China Fleet Club, Saltash on 7th March 2009 by Ross Wheeler, who was the Acting Chairman of the South West Region.
Lindsay joined the Torbay CSSC Committee in October 1998 at a time when the Area was struggling for volunteers. Lindsay stepped straight into the role of Secretary and the communication within the area improved greatly.
Lindsay produced regular minutes of all meetings and these were always promptly distributed. She quickly became a live wire introducing and organising new events such as murder mystery evenings, theatre trips, skittles evening, coach/shopping outings and organising a group to visit Mickleton in the Cotswolds for the Pudding Club.
Lindsay has played a pivotal role within the Torbay Area and the success was recognised by CSSC nationally in the year 2000 when Torbay was awarded the Russell Scott Trophy for the Area of the Year.
A feature of Lindsay's organisation are the colourful posters that she produces and circulates for all Torbay CSSC events. When Torbay 'Torbay's former Chairman left the area in October 2002, Lindsay took over the lead role as Chairman but still continued with her event organising. Lindsay has always been proactive in finding new volunteers for the local committee when replacements are required.
Lindsay has also greatly contributed to South West Regional CSSC and has been actively involved on the Regional Executive Committee since February 2001. The Chairman Ross Wheeler has greatly appreciated her help and assistance where her input and knowledge is greatly valued by all.
Over a decade on from her entry into CSSC administration, Lindsay's enthusiasm shows no signs of diminishing.
Congratulations Lindsay!
