Coarse Angling National Finals 2011
The organisation and facilities for this match were once again first class. Eleven regions with teams of six took part. The match was divided into six sections with one member of each regional team fishing in each section. The South West team, along with the other regions, arrived for practise one day before the final and worked out their tactics for the match.
With strong, gusting, cold wind, fishing was fairly hard, so light floats against the far margin and at three metres were agreed to be the best approach for a good team result. This proved to be the case as the team finished with a section win, a second place, two thirds and two midway in their sections.
Team results
1st place with 20 points – Midlands
2nd place with 22 points - South West
3rd place with 23 points - Northern
